welcome

The spa day, paw by paw.

About two hours from drop off to zoomies. Here is exactly what happens while you go get a coffee.

  1. 1

    Sniff and hello

Ten slow minutes on the floor with treats. Nothing buzzes until the tail says so.

    10 min
  2. 2

    Warm bath

Two shampoos picked for the coat, warm water, and a massage most humans would pay extra for.

    25 min
  3. 3

    Fluff dry

A quiet low heat dryer and a lot of towels. Dogs who hate the wind get towels only.

    30 min
  4. 4

    Trim and tidy

Scissored by hand to the photo you showed us. Nails, ears and a bandana to finish.

Before your visit.

The five things people ask on the phone. If yours is not here, call. Tasha picks up, usually with a wet poodle under one arm.

My dog is nervous. What do you do differently?

A lot. Nervous dogs get the first or last spot of the day, when the shop is quiet. We start with sniffing and treats on the floor, skip the loud dryer if it scares them, and take breaks. If it is too much we stop. Half a groom done kindly beats a full groom done scared, and we will tell you honestly how it went.

Which shots do you need to see?

Rabies, distemper and parvo, and Bordetella within the last year. A photo of the vet record on your phone is fine. Puppies need their second round of puppy shots before a first visit.

How long will it take?

A bath and tidy takes about an hour and a half. A full groom takes two to three hours, a little more for doodles and double coats. We text you when your dog has twenty minutes to go, so nobody waits around in a crate.

My dog is matted. Will you have to shave?

Maybe. When mats sit tight to the skin, brushing them out hurts, so we clip short and start fresh. We show you the mats and agree on a plan before a single clipper turns on. There is no lecture.

What if we are late or need to cancel?

Tell us by 5 pm the day before and it costs nothing. We hold your spot for 15 minutes. After that we may need to shorten the groom or move you, and a missed visit is $25.
